Innovative Solutions for a Greener Future with Nature-Based Sustainable Biomaterials
BIOP Biotechnology is a pioneering venture building the future today in the fields of innovative biomaterials and biodesign. With an approach grounded in regenerative principles, we transform sustainability from a concept into an applicable model of change.
Established in 2022 through our partnership with Ege University Technopark and the support of the TÜBİTAK 1512 BİGG – Green Deal Program (UN), our journey began with the goal of redefining sustainable production. Today, operating under DEÜ TTO (Dokuz Eylül University Technopark), we continue to expand our impact by developing solutions that turn waste into value.
Our latest initiative, BIOPTION, aims to transform industrial waste such as plastics into environmentally responsible, high-value products through creative and circular systems.
Among our KOSGEB and TÜBİTAK supported projects are:
- Development of Sustainable and Biodegradable Mycelium Panels
- Development of an Eco-Friendly Acoustic Panel by Binding Recycled PET Waste with Mycelium
These projects offer concrete and scalable examples of nature-based innovation in practice.
At BIOP, we do not simply develop products; we are building a new production culture at the intersection of industrial design, biotechnology, and sustainability. With our expert and multidisciplinary team, we work toward a future where regenerative thinking becomes the standard, drawing inspiration from nature while creating value for it.
BIOP Celebrated Its 3rd Anniversary with the Golden Plumb Award!
BIOP Biotech received the Golden Compass Award in the Corporate Idea Category at the 30th International Golden Compass Awards by Yapı Kataloğu with its mycelium-based Mi-Pan Decorative Wall Panel, developed by bringing together architecture and biotechnology.
Upcycling industrial waste, containing no synthetic binders, and produced through a carbon-negative manufacturing process, Mi-Pan sets a new standard in sustainable building materials with its natural form, high thermal and acoustic insulation performance, and fire resistance.
Mi-Pan is not just a panel; it is a strong manifesto of nature-compatible production, regenerative design, and the circular economy.
